Ayanna Williams: Woman with longest fingernails cuts them after nearly 30 years

A woman from Texas, USA identified as Ayanna Williams who held the Guinness World Record title for longest fingernails has finally cut them after nearly 30 years.

The woman did final measurements on her nails over the weekend, before she  bidding them goodbye.

The new measurements were 24 feet and 0.7 inches breaking her another record.

Ayanna won the Guineas world record title for the longest fingernails in 2017 when they measured 19 feets long and 10.9 inches. The nails manicure took four bottles of nail polish.

“I’ve been growing my nails for a few decades now. I’m so, so ready for a new life. I know I’m going to miss them, but it’s just about that time – it’s time for them to go,” she said. “With or without my nails, I will still be the queen. My nails do not make me, I make my nails,” she added.

The cutting task was done at a dermatology office in Fort Worth, Texas by Allison Reading we who used an electric rotary tool.

“With or without my nails, I will still be the queen,” Williams said, according to Guinness. “My nails don’t make me, I make my nails!” She said as quoted by Guinness world record on Twitter.

The woman also disclosed that she grew up loving nails and nail paints.

She further opened up that the long nails blocked her from accomplishing few and simple day-to-day activities.

Until now, she revealed that house chores such as washing the dishes cleaning the house or even spreading sheets on a bed was a total challenge.

“With my movements, I have to be very, very careful, said Williams. So usually in my mind, I’m already preparing for the next step that I have to do to make sure that I don’t hurt myself with my nails – or break them,” she added.

She revealed that all she wants is to encourage the young ones who are fans of nails to grow their nails to record-setting lengths and go for Guinness world record titles.

According to Ripley, Ayanna’s nails will be displayed at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando.
