Milele FM radio presenter Alex Mwakideu is set to quit radio to focus on joining politics.
Speaking in a recent interview, the media personality announced his plans to quit radio noting that it ia a secret he has been keeping.
Mwakideu will be contesting for a parliamentary seat in Taita Taveta County.
“I’m someone that the Taita people know because I have houses in Voi, Wundanyi and they know me plus there’s respect at home. When you have that, people will always ask you to lead different places,” he said.
In November 2021, Mwakideu’s best friend, Jalang’o also announced his exit from radio to focus on his political ambitions ahead of August 9 polls.
Speaking on an episode on his Bonga Na Jalas YouTube series, Jalang’o confirmed he will be tendering in his resignation letter on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
According to Jalang’o, he will be forced to leave the station as dictated by the Kenyan electoral laws which demand one to resign from their official jobs as they join politics.
The radio host insisted that he will resume campaigns immediately after leaving Kiss 100 in a bid to secure the Langata Parliamentary seat in the upcoming General Election.
”Get ready to replace me when I leave Kiss. I will be leaving on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.” Jalang’o told MCA Tricky.
