Aisha Jumwa addresses claims that DP Ruto bought her a multimillion home

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has dismissed claims that Deputy President William Ruto bought her a multimillion house so that she could support his 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking in a recent interview, the MP stated that she owns a number of posh homes as a result of her hard work and not her close association with DP Ruto.

Jumwa wondered how the DP would have lured her to support his presidential bid yet she has been supporting him from the beginning.

“I have palatial houses. Not because I supported ODM or the deputy president. It’s all my hard work and even loans which I am still repaying to date,” she said.

The vocal MP also noted that she loves the DP because of his agenda and his involvement in country’s active politics.

“His agenda has moved us, as the coastal region. He has changed the conversation in the country on leadership positions to put the focus on Kenyans,” Jumwa said.

Further, Jumwa clarified rumours surrounding her divorce from her ex-husband.

The lawmaker dismissed claims that she dumped her husband noting that he gave her an ultimatum to choose between the marriage or politics.

“I was asked to choose my political career or to continue being his wife and I decided not to kill my career,” she said.

She stated that after her divorce, she decided to take a break from marriage, further maintaining that she is not answerable to any man.

“I am not a wife to anyone neither I’m I answerable to any man in this world. When I became an MCA of Takaungu, the man (her ex-husband) said he cannot be married to a politician,” she added.
