Ahmed Kalebi: Former Lancet CEO mourns mother

Former Lancet CEO Dr Ahmed Kalebi is mourning following the death of his mother, Hajjat Maalim Zuhura Sebit Rajab.

According to the medic, her mother took her final breath on Thursday night, July 1 moments after spending time at her granddaughter’s house.

Through his social media pages, Kalebi stated that his mother was walking back to the car after attending his nephew’s birthday party when she collapsed.

“Mom has always been reiterating her wish even as late as last Sunday while talking to my sisters- that when her times comes, she prays to have a swift death without being sickly or incapacitated,” tweeted Kalebi.

He added that his mother collapsed while in his company, hia wife, together with their two sons, noting that efforts to perform a CPR on her bore no fruits.

“The turn of events happened suddenly after a busy and joyful night out at my daughter’s for Thursday iftar and a stop at my nephew’s birthday. She collapsed around 09:10pm when we were walking to the car with my wife, all my boys and myself; she died almost immediately in our hands,” he wrote.
