Two junior officers have been dismissed following a scuffle with their boss in a local entertainment joint in Nairobi’s Kasarani area.
The two officers identified as Marwa Matiko and Charles Maina were dismissed after arresting and disarming Kayole DCIO Jackson Owino.
A viral CCTV footage dated Friday, March 25 showed the two officers; one with a blue uniform and another with civilian clothing walking into the bar.
The officers confronted Owino who was in the company of one Zacharia Mwambia.
A bitter confrontation ensued between the two parties and at some point, Mwambia was pushed and slapped hard for trying to intervene.
After some time, the officer in civilian clothing forcefully handcuffed Owino and forced him out of the club as other revellers try to intervene.
At some point, the officer in uniform could be seen pointing his gun at Owino’s chest as they engage in a bitter exchange of words.
The incident started when Owino, met a lady identified as Elizabeth Wangari at the Seasons Lounge and allegedly threatened her.
Owino had gone to the pub’s carwash with his official car when he met Wangari smoking and tried to discourage her from smoking resulting in a heated confrontation.
Offended by Owino’s remarks, Wangari is said to have stormed out of the club and threatened to teach the officer a lesson.
She went straight to Kasarani Police Station which is a few metres from the pub and came back with two officers
Owino was thrown into custody but he was later released after the intervention of a senior officer at the station.
